Pros: The most Harry Potter-esque looking candle. Only takes 1 AAA battery. Comes with fishing wire already attached. Cool wand as remote.Cons: Sensitive so if you hit a candle, it turns on. If you have very tall ceilings, it would make sense to have these all connected on one line. I tried for days to do it myself with a fishing line, but they all kept sliding along the line and clumping in one area and tangling. I put hot glue on them to keep it in place, did not work. I grew frustrated and gave up. I may put these up in the areas of my home with lower ceiling heights, which may not look as pretty.

The hardest part of these flameless, flickering, floating candles is going to be figuring out where to hang them! This 6-pack came with enough sticky hooks and push pins for all of the candles, so I can hang them in a variety of different locations. All of the candles came with a long coil of fishing line too, which will help with the floating illusion.However, the candles don’t need to be floating in their final location for you to use them! All 6 candles plus the wand take a single AAA battery (not included). This is a hefty investment of batteries, but it claims that they’ll run for 200 hours on a single battery. I haven’t tested this yet. Once everything has a battery, simply press “On” on the wand to turn the candles on, and “Off” to turn them off. It’s that simple! The caps over the batteries can be a bit tricky to line up properly, and it’s very easy to get them misaligned, but they also can be “snapped” back into alignment, so that’s okay.The wand tip lights up and flickers while ON is being pressed, and for the most part, the candles behaved as they should. Every now and then, not all the candles would turn on or off, but just pressing the button again would fix those. Sometimes, for some reason, the candles would turn on when I moved them around on the table, without touching the wand.Regardless, I was giggling like a Hogwarts schoolgirl as I flicked and swished my wand and made the candlelight dance. Definitely a must-have for any magic fan!

I got these not knowing what I would do with them. They were just too cool to walk away from. You get six candles and a wand that turns them on, controls the flickering effect, etc. Very nicely packaged and presented. The fishing line is already attached so you can hang them up at once. Each candle takes one AAA battery, as does the wand. So, I was very lucky I had batteries on hand. No idea how long the batteries will last since I just hung them up for a test. The wand worked very well and, though the candles aren’t terribly bright, they give off a wonderful effect and in the dark or semi dark, it really looks cool. We had fun playing with the wand and trying to get the magic word, wand wave, and button push all coordinated. I liked these so much that I’m going to order more. I have a two-story dining room and with a couple dozen of them hanging from that high ceiling, it will look super cool.

I actually ordered these candles to replace the ones on my christmas tree that are no longer working. I have weighted candleholders for my tree and many of the candles no longer work so when I saw these and realized they are the same size I was quite excited. These are obviously fake plastic candles visually but they work on the back of the tree, where they will not be closely inspected, perfectly. I can see where they would be great fun for a Harry Potter/halloween/just want floating candles event and I certainly plan to look for opportunities to use them. They come with fishing line attached which is great when using them as intended. They work as expected. I am giving them 4 stars as they do look like cheap plastic fake candles but I guess if I was hanging them I wouldn’t care. The wand is cute

I guess they’re too young or “too cool” for Harry Potter, because they immediately went to me “sitting in a pentagram, calling forth spirits” instead of “oh, hey! that looks like the dining hall from HP!” These floating candles are pretty cool, in my opinion. I knocked off a point due to the sticky circles not adhering very well and falling down, as well as a few of them turn on randomly and I need to loosen the bottom cap to the battery. It’s almost as if the connection is too tight to turn off when it’s supposed to, or turn on when it isn’t supposed to. I haven’t caught 2 in time and the batteries have died. Each candle takes one AA battery so be prepared to go through quite a few of those. I have no clue how to use the timer function that the review asked me to rate, I didn’t see anything about that in the instructions and the remote control has 2 buttons: on and off. But just having these hanging above my bed make me happy in a way only a true nerd can understand, when something from your most-wished for life becomes a reality, if even for a small (and expensive) blip.
