Most retrofit remotes use an annoying single button to control lamp power and dimming. This one does it right with separate Power, Increase and Decrease buttons. For those with a 2 wire circuit you can’t upgrade, it’s the best option. Fan controls work, and are fairly quiet. The only complaint I have is the delay between turning on power and the light/fan coming on is rather long.Unfortunately, after a thunderstorm, the lighting circuit no longer works. This could be indicative of weak components, or just bad luck. Not looking forward to having to pull the fan down to replace it.Update: After the replacement arrived, the light control inexplicably started working again. Odd. On the plus side, I don’t have to replace it, and now I have 2 remotes, which I had planned on getting anyway. One stays on the wall, and the other on the night table next to the bed. I also have a spare receiver in case the issue happens again. Everything worked out better than I expected.

I really, really, really wish I could have just bought the remote. It’s such a waste to pay this overpriced amount for the receiver as well. I mean what’s more likely, that I lost/damaged the remote or that I somehow lost the entire ceiling fan and also need a new receiver? I’ve never felt so held hostage as to have to pay this much for a cheap plastic remote! Honestly, if the remote was higher quality then I probably wouldn’t be in the situation of having to buy a new one. This should be like a $10 item, then hell at that price I’d probably buy one to have on every table in the room.

my make\model: fanimation LP8068Purchased a house where my ceiling room fan would only supply light at the wall switch. I tried the fanimation bluetooth app on my phone but my fan must not have that control unit so I ordered this remote.Came in from Amazon in 2 days. Just got it today, 7/27/22. The remote comes with the control unit that could be installed inside the fan.Instead, I knew there were roughly 32 dipswitch combinations on the remote to program the radio frequency of the remote to the control unit already in my fan. I began with switch 1 up and worked my way through its combination of the 5 switches, no go. Did switch 2 up and its combinations, no go. The remote worked when I got the combination right with switch 3 and 5 up.I can now turn my fan lights/blades on and off from this remote. I put the control unit up to save if I ever need it (doubt it).Works great!

Was wondering why it was so expensiveβ¦well it came with the remote and sensor. As I already have the fan installed, just needed the remote. It was as easy as putting in the provided battery and switching the switches to the correct number and it worked.I just kept the other parts just in case.

First of all I was surprised that the fan and light failed simultaneously at all. But once I determined that the electronics failed I thought to take a chance and only buy a new remote and start there. I couldnβt believe that the receiver also came with the remote! It took maybe 10 minutes to install and it is working fine again. No programming needed. Just turn power back in. Iβm not sure what else you could ask for? $43-No electrician needed. Pretty amazing result.
