What is it about blue stars they can’t get right? I prefer blue stars over the green ones but every blue star projector I’ve tried had the same problem…..blurry blue stars. This doesn’t seem to be an issue with green star projectors but the blue star projectors, regardless of the company who makes them, are always and I mean always the same problem over and over…lack of crisp, clear stars. The other problem is the projector doesn’t cover the entire ceiling. I guess I need to give up on looking for one that covers the entire ceiling because it doesn’t seem like that’s ever gonna happen. One last con…for the price point they should’ve made the battery rechargeable. I’m wondering when will star projector designers figure out that a long lasting rechargeable battery will give consumers the freedom and flexibility of not being limited where projectors can be placed? Being bound by electrical outlets or usb ports is annoying. Especially for those of us who live in old homes built during the Victorian Era or Edwardian Era, where electrical outlets are limited.Other than this, I found this projector to be quite impressive and was impressed with this app compared to the app for their older model projector which was awful. I had to return their older model projector because I could never get the device to connect to my wifi nor connect to their app.Haven’t had any problems with this projector and app so far. I have it set to a timed on/off schedule and no problems whatsoever. Whenever I open the app to make color adjustments for my mom, it’s always connected and that’s impressive.I got this for my mom’s room. She suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and this really calms her at night. She’s fascinated at how beautiful the lights are. She comes alive when the projector comes on and it warms my heart so much because the conversations we have about the lights are so special to me because of this heart wrenching and difficult time in my mom’s life. It’s like lying on the ground, looking up at the stars in the sky, leaving your worries behind and having the coolest conversations about the wonders of nature!I like how you can control the cloud speed and the laser speed. You can adjust the brightness and most of all, you can adjust the device to tilt at ANY angle….now that’s marvelous dahling, simply marvelous!2 star deduction for the aforementioned problems but otherwise I highly recommend because I think they finally found the overall right formula with this one.

For the project patterns and colors, I love this one a lot more than the then Blisslights 2.0. This one has a white light in addition to the red green blue lights, so you can make pastel patterns, sort of like the underwater effect, which is really cool. The speed and rotation are more flexible to adjust than Bliss2.0 as well.I took away 1 start because there is a big con on data privacy. Unlike the Bliss2.0 that mostly doesn’t snoop up tons of your personal info, this app tracks way too much unnecessary identity data. If you don’t use the app, you don’t get to create your own projection patterns, which takes away 80% of the fun. Ideally, if you have an old retired tablet or smartphone, I recommend using it to control the app without running any other apps.

The only control of this product is through the application. Which would be great if it was just a Bluetooth connection, or a reliable wifi connection. This needs both and to say setup was easy is a lie. It kept rejecting my wifi, wanting a 2.4 ghz signal that my router wasn’t providing. So after time spent figuring out my router, I got it to work. I’m sure other people won’t have quite the same issues if any at all, but it was not an easy time the way it should have been.

I bought this for my 8 yo who had a renewed fear of the dark suddenly with night wakings, including waking us up in the middle of the night for 3 nights in a row (which is nothing compared to the 9 months of night wakings at 2 to 5 times a night a few years ago, but I didn’t want a repeat!). We chose a projector because she already had the Moon night light with LED rainbow colors. What helped my kid last time with overcoming fear of the dark was changing the night light, so, this time, I went up a step to a projector. The light show you see upon plugging-in the Bliss Evolve with nebula clouds and stars is awesome – it’s magenta-blue-violet nebula clouds with blue stars. The set up to connect my phone to the projector to use the ap to adjust the colors did take up a bunch of my time, like 45 min to an hour, — maybe someone with lots of tech experience it would not take so long. I downloaded the ap from the QR code on the box. The manual is a QR code on the box, and does not mention any of the ap programming – (some of us like instructions). The ap does walk you through what to do to connect to the projector, and after 45 min or more we were all excited when I got my phone to link to the projector and my kid could change the colors and stars. There are a few “cloud” options: Sky, Ocean and… Space (?) or something. They are all beautiful. Then, upon my kid’s first night using the Bliss Evolve as a projector, I got woken up in the middle of the night because IT SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN and my kid woke up to DARK!!! – probably has a built in shut off time. In the ap, there is a scheduler, and I set up every night for the projector to automatically go on at our hour of bedtime, AND I set up a scheduler for it to automatically turn off through morning wake up at 6am. I was worried that it would just auto-shut off again, but it doesn’t if you set up a turn on and shut off schedule in the ap. TOTALLY HAPPY! Our patience with figuring out the ap over two days and two nights paid off! Whew! Now when our kid wakes up in the middle of the night, the beautiful sky is comforting. The manual could be improved with some details about how the ap can assist you – to allow parents like me to get our well deserved sleep! But totally the product is doing the trick keeping my kid in bed. Thank you!
