I was recently in my basement and one of the old fluorescent fixtures that were there from when I moved in years ago started to smoke and the ballast burned out or something. It was scary, but I later learned it likely wouldn’t have led to a fire, as smokey as it was at the time. I decided it was time to upgrade all of my old fixtures in the basement to LEDs and chose these since they could be hardwired, plugged in, or linked together. This flexibility came in very handy in my basement because I had a mixture of all three installation needs. These fixtures are very bright, they are amazing. And the price couldn’t be beaten at the time of purchase – a great value. Installation was easy, even when hardwiring if you know what you are doing.Goodbye fluorescents! I am so happy to have these lights in my basement now.

Was a bit unsure when I ordered the first set, but after receiving and installing, I had to order a bunch more. What an awesome light setup. I have no shadows in my shop when the sliding door is closed. If you chain them together like I did, installation in extremely fast and easy. I had a couple of switches go bad, but I had some many left over after installation, I just swap them out with a spare, easy. I even bought some for my Dad to use in his shop, he loves them and he wants more, I will be buying him some more for Christmas to finish out his work space.

I just ordered my second set. My first has been installed under my 20×20 carport. When I turn them on at night, its like daylight. 100% awesome value. They install with two screws and brackets, super simple. Honestly, they look pretty cool over my car. If you are in need and wondering if these are cheap and worth the risk, take it. Like I said, I’m buying my second set now to install two in a garage on one of my remodels, then I’m saving the others for what, I cant say, but I know it’ll be lit well.

I really like these lights. I bought a couple sets of them for my basement. They went up pretty easily, though the screws included with these are very soft, so you have to be very careful with them. That’s what you get at this price point, though, so it’s hard to be too mad about it. They include two extra mounting clips in each box, but no extra screws, however. That stinks–don’t mess them up or your out of luck. Thankfully these weigh pretty much nothing, so one clip would easily hold one up if needed. I didn’t think I would need as many of them as I did, and I am buying a couple more sets of them to finish my install, so I would err on the side of buying too many.If you’re attaching them to floor joists, like I did, keep in mind that you can’t put them anywhere you have pipes or wires run because of the way the clips are–they have to sit flush on the wood. The daisy-chain wires are pretty short though–long enough if you put one on every joist, but not long enough to skip one without running a new power cord to an outlet. Keep that in mind, as it will affect your layout.I ended up using socket adapters (they screw into light sockets and have 1, 2, or 3 (depending on the model) non-grounded receptacles on them to plug into) to wire these up, since my basement has a bunch of regular E26 sockets wired to a switch. That worked a treat, and all of these come on with the switch now.Overall, I’d highly recommend.

I bought these a little over 4 years ago now and have used them in so many ways in the 4 different places I’ve lived in that time. Bathroom lighting, under the counters, garage, ambient lighting behind the couch, etc. These are very versatile and easy to install. The plastic covering the LEDs feels a little flimsy but I don’t think that matters much as the metal backing is sturdy. These hold up well over time. Highly recommended.

I ended up buying 2 sets of the 6 pack of lights to light up my garage as I work on cars etc. and needed better than the single incandescent bulb that was original. Overall I like the lights as they are bright and lightweight. Super easy to install – just screw in a couple of clips and they snap into the clips. It’s nice that they can have a gap between 2 lights or they can be butted up against each other as there are 2 ways to connect daisy-chain them. With my setup I did have to do a bit of wire splicing to get them to all come one from the one old socket. I’ve now had these for almost 3 years and of the 12 individual bars, 4 have burnt out. I’m not too sure how long ago the 4 died. The price is a few dollars more now than when I bought them, but I think it’s still a fair price. When a couple more of mine die, I’ll likely buy another set to replace the burnt one.

I have used these lights in several places around the house and in the garage. They are very bright and the LEDs are mounted on an aluminum substrate to dissipate heat (LED killer). I had one of the strips fail and reported the failure to the vendor and they were very good about compensating me for the damaged light and even were willing to replace the entire set for me. Since I only had one failed light, I accepted a credit for the failed light. One of these strip lights is the background light for my computer workstation and gets hours of use every day – that light has been flawless. In hindsight I may have fastened one of the lights in a way that restricted heat dissipation which caused the failure – But, the user needs to be sure that the aluminum backing of the LED light (also a heat dissipater) is allowed some room around that base for heat dissipation. One end of the aluminum base gets pretty warm and that needs ventilation (LED chips that are mounted to the aluminum substrate are not directly connected to the aluminum back, so it doesn’t cool quickly).

I was exploring many options to make my basement to a permanent office space and failed miserably due to lack of enough lighting. Came across this one and ordered two sets for 400 sq ft room. It completely transitioned the place. This not only improved the lighting but also influenced the overall mood even during the coldest days with no sunlight. LOVE IT. So easy to install. I added this to my son’s study room as well.
