We bought 6 of the 600 light strings to cover a 7 foot Christmas tree. The first one came with a remote. The rest did not, though the instructions referred to the remote. The one remote we did get did not control any of the other sets. When I contacted the manufacturer to report the missing remotes, I was told they did not come with a remote due to the cost of the remote but they were planning to sell a set with a remote for a higher price. However, since the packaging was the same, they couldn’t control which set Amazon would ship.The remote is a necessity. These lights don’t hold their setting. They return to the first mode every time you turn them on. The only way to set the mode if you don’t have a remote is by pushing the button on the plug. If you’re planning to put these on your roof, keep your ladder handy.Since we wanted the steady on mode, we were able to buy separate replacement plugs which only have the steady on mode for another $12 each. I took a star off on value because of the cost of the additional adapters.

Nice set of blue lights… a little pricey though. If you have your lights on a timer, you will need to re-set the 8 flashing options every day. It just will go through the cycle options continuously unless you do so. Definitely a hassle. The strobe light option is really bright and if you live on a busy street please consider that some people can be affected.

The lights are great. The control box must be sheltered so plan in this when hanging the lights.The remote is infrared and has to have direct line-of-sight to work and the range is not very good.

got them all set up and looked great BUT when i turned them off they LOOSE the mode you set them too. after reading low star rattings i see iam not the only one with that problem .i put mine on fence so its easy to replace them.if u put on roof and u turn them off you have to get back up there to reset mode.iam sending mine back.i have used this brand before and they kept there mode. hate to go to another brand but here i go.

Finally can change the colors when I can’t decide! Or when my kids fight about it we can take turns. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that I wish the wire was green to blend in better. It’s clear, but in daylight it looks whitish. Not a dealbreaker but I definitely have to get used to it. You can see the difference on the daytime vs nighttime pic. Also the night pic doesn’t do it justice. Harder to capture the true color in the evening w the camera.
